Drying of fruits and vegetables under the sun is the most commonly used method for food preservation in homes and at farms. It offers an economic potential and often the sale of dried fruits and vegetable is the only source of income for farmers in villages and isolated communities.

Solar Energy is an economically viable heat source which can be used to dry low cost agricultural products. However, drying in the open sun is not hygienic. It takes a long time to dry and rain may slow down the drying process. Also, if the food is not carefully dried, it results in growth of bacteria, fungus and loss of investment.

LE Solar Dryers use a simple construction to use sun’s heat more efficiently. Under the correct climatic conditions they can provide many advantages over sun drying. These include:

LE Solar Dryer can dry fruits, vegetables and medicinal herbs faster and are economically viable for agriculturists, farm owners and even residential users. Air circulation is maintained inside the dryer with an electric fan. Additional Gas Burners can also be fitted for faster drying at night or in case of overcast conditions.
